First impression. Members enter their email, receive a one-tap link, and they're in. No password, no passkey ceremony, no app to install. The form lives below the fold of welcome copy that explains what the area is and reassures non-tech-savvy members. Includes a "trouble signing in?" link that opens a help dialog with the secretary's contact details.

When members sign in, this is what they see. Today's date front and centre, the rink direction and colour shown for today, plus a chronological list of what's happening at the club. Bottom tab bar persists across the app: Calendar, Matches, Comps, Notices, You. The "Today / Week / Month" tabs at the top change the granularity of the view.

The wider view. Each day shows up to three coloured dots representing different entry types — solid black for matches, hollow for events, orange for upcoming deadlines. Tapping a day jumps back to the today-style list view filtered to that day. The legend explains the dot colours; the rink direction and marker colour for the selected day are shown above the agenda.

A focused "what do I need to do?" list. Top of the list is anything urgent — a fix-by deadline approaching, a result waiting to be confirmed, a team you've been picked for. Below that, scheduled matches in date order, then completed matches as history. Each card shows the comp/fixture, the opponent, the state, and the most relevant action. Tapping any card opens its detail (screen 06).

Viewing a competition you're in. Horizontally scrollable on mobile because brackets are wide by nature. Your match in each round is highlighted with a darker outline and a subtle label. Round headers show the play-by date and any fix-by deadline. Pre-round byes appear inline as italics, future rounds as TBD placeholders. Tapping any match opens its detail (screen 06).

The most important screen in the comp module. State at the top, opponent and handicap difference clearly shown, a timeline showing what's happened and what's next, and bottom-anchored actions. The actions change with state — here, the challenger sees "Propose three dates" and "Message opponent." Once dates are agreed it becomes "Book a rink." After play, "Enter result." After result, "Confirm." Each transition fires the right email automatically.

Read-only for most members, post-only for admins. A pinned card sits at the top for important standing notices (e.g. "green closed during heavy rain — check before travelling"). Below that, posts in reverse chronological order. Each post has an author with role pill, a title, body, and lightweight reactions (a thumbs-up or "noted" tap rather than threaded comments — keeps the moderation overhead at zero). Tapping a post opens a full-screen view with the complete content.

A simple library of past newsletters as PDFs, grouped by year with the most recent year first. Each card shows a thumbnail of the first page (helpful for skimming when you remember "the one with the picture of the green keeper"), a title, and the publish date. Tapping opens the PDF inline (or downloads on devices that don't preview). The latest newsletter floats to the top with a "Latest" pill — admins can also pin a specific issue if needed.

A searchable list of fellow members. Each member chooses their visibility under their own profile (see screen 10) — by default a name and role appears, contact details are gated. Filters at the top let you narrow by role (captain, coach, committee), comp eligibility (Over 65s, Over 80s), or membership type. Tapping a member opens their public profile card; the action button on the right opens a "request contact" sheet that emails the secretary if the member hasn't shared their direct details. Letter-grouped for quick scanning.

Everything personal in one place. Top: identity (name, photo, handicap, role pills). Then settings grouped into clear blocks: notifications (email Y/N, what to be reminded about), directory visibility (what fellow members can see about you), comp preferences (which comps you've entered, sign-up shortcuts), and account (sign out, export your data, delete your account). The data export and delete options are mandatory under UK GDPR — they need to live somewhere obvious. Each row that opens further detail uses the same pattern: label, current value, chevron.

Desktop view because picking a team involves comparing many members at once. Left: the fixture details and rink-by-rink team builder, with named positions (Lead, 2, 3, Skip). Right: the available player pool, filtered to who's signed up but not yet picked. Drag-and-drop, or click the +. The "Save and notify" button at the top right confirms the team and emails everyone — the players, the opposition captain, and the marker pool.

Comp Secretary's tool. A four-step flow as a top stepper: Setup → Entrants → Draw → Publish. This screen shows step 3, where the bracket has been generated and is ready to be reviewed before publishing. Left: the rules and configuration. Right: a live preview of the bracket. The "Re-roll" button generates a new random draw; "Edit slot" lets the secretary swap any two players to handle special cases (recent finalists ending up against each other, family members, etc).
